Hi there! Sorry I’ve been away so long. I’ve been very busy just being a dog and hanging out with my family. This is a fun picture of me lounging on the sofa with mom. Only three more months until the new puppy comes! I can’t wait. Playing with the cat gets boring after a while.

Guests

Having guests over is always an interesting struggle. I, of course, want to greet the new guests immediately by jumping on them and sniffing them out as quickly as I can. You know, to check them out. Well mom and dad always yell at me to get down and go lay in my bed. They try to make me wait until i've calmed down. What they don't understand is that this makes me more anxious. I tend to get really excited when we have guests over. However, after about five minutes or so, I calm down. Dad's friend and co-worker David and his girlfriend Kelsey came over this weekend. I really liked them and had fun snuggling while they played a game. Aren't I cute when I sleep?

New room...not for me!

Not to be ungrateful or anything but I don't understand why my new sibling is getting special treatment. I am a good dog, for the most part. I sit when i'm told. I potty outside. Apparently that's not good enough. This new one isn't even here yet and already mom and dad are making a whole room for it, while I get my kennel in the basement. They've started painting and everything. Besides, i'm older, shouldn't I get the big room? So not fair!

A Puppy Christmas

I look forward to Christmas every year. Who doesn't love snow, and presents, and decorations. Not to be a grinch, but, there is one part of Christmas that I loathe. It would be the annual tradition of making me wear antlers. I look ridiculous. They are not comfortable. And everyone laughs at me. None-the-less I suppose it wouldn't be Christmas without antlers. Bah-humbug! Below I am sporting my Christmas present from dad's family. A Michigan collar with a bandana attached. Don't I look good? Go Blue! Hopefully my new gift will help the season go a bit better next year.

Thanksgiving in Ohio

I spent a fun-filled week last week in Ohio for Thanksgiving with the Zimmerman’s. I had lots of fun playing in the yard with Rudy (their 14 year old dog), eating Turkey and sleeping on everyone’s laps. This is me with my mom and dad posing by the birch tree.

So it turns out i'm going to be a big brother! I am so excited and a little confused. When mom and dad told me I assumed that we'd all go together to pick him or her out from a litter like they did with me. But instead they are growing this one inside mom's tummy. I really don't understand why. The other weird thing is that we have to wait until next May to bring him or her home. They tell me i'm going to be a big brother, get my hopes up, and then tell me I have to wait 7 months. Humbug. Anyway the new little one is already taking after me. It started it's own blog. For Dad's birthday Grandma Janet, Grandpa Guy and Aunt Rachael came to town for the weekend. It was a surprise for Daddy and I had a really hard time keeping the secret. Luckily I managed and he had no idea. Here they are after the big surprise. I wish I could have been there. :(

For Dad's birthday Mom made a vegan light saber chocolate birthday cake. I heard it was good but they wouldn't let me have any. Apparently chocolate isn't good for puppies...blah...blah...blah...it's not fair.

To Swim or Not to Swim

We decided to go swimming one day. I did not want to go. I do not like the water. Please don't make me go.
Please oh please oh please don't drop me in the cold blue pond.

As you can see, I was not a big fan of the pool. I am a very good swimmer but I do not like the pool. I wouldn't even take a beggin strip I was so freaked out. Hopefully i'll never have to do that again.

Invasion of the White Puff Balls

Two little white fluff balls came to stay at our house for a week. They smelled like dogs but were covered in all this fuzzy white stuff. I was very confused. It was very difficult to get this shot but we managed to get all of the animals on the sofa and looking at the camera, almost. This is Lil Beau (Little Boy) and I wrestling. He is six months old and fiesty! We pretty much spent the whole week wresting. The nice thing about that fuzz, it is easy to grab with the teeth.
Oooo don't I look vicious! Don't mess with me puffy! Grrr

This is me trying to kiss Jolie, Lil Beau's mother. She didn't want much to do with me.
In fact most of the time Jolie spent like this, hiding on the sofa. I think she was trying to stay out of the fray.
Wooster too spent most of the time watching from a safe distance.
Now i'm all for humping, but give me a break. This little guy wouldn't leave me alone.
Even while I was getting a drink of water.
And while I was trying to take care of business with Jolie.
It was fun to have playmates around for a week but i'm glad to have my house back to myself again.

Every Wednesday I get to go play with my pal Rocko. He is my cousin dog. While mom and dad play poker at Matt's house. They have a fenced in back yard where we get to run and run and run until we can no longer move. I always sleep well on Wednesday nights.

Puggle Party

One nice spring day I decided to go to the puppy park. I've been several times before. But this day would turn out to be very different. I was just minding my own business humping a little fluffy dog when all of the sudden I turned around, and I thought I was looking in the mirror. There was a dog that looked just like me. It took me a few seconds of sniffing and looking and some more sniffing to realize that I was looking at another Puggle. Just like me!I've been to the puppy park many times and have never met another Puggle. She and I had a blast running and sniffing and jumping. We were so excited to meet each other!
In case you can't tell i'm the one on the right. She was a bit lighter than me. We ran and ran until we were both worn out.
And it was time to go home.
But wait...What is this dog? It looks like a Puggle, but with black fur! Another Puggle!!! Two in one day.
And then another! That's Three in one day! Four if you count me!
What I treat I couldn't believe it.
These two Puggles were from the same home. They were a little older than me. And not quite as handsome. (I'm in the middle of the Puggle sandwich)
Clearly we were all interested in the same thing. (I'm in the middle again)
What a fun Puggle filled day I had a the puppy park. I hope to see my new friends again soon.

One of my favorite games is to grab a sock (or glove) and run under the bed. I love to chew on soft things and more than that, I love to be chased. Here I am enjoying a nice chew on a glove.There's lots of room to hide things under the bed. As you can see, i've done a number on the mattress.
Sometimes daddy joins me under the bed.
I don't really like it. This is my spot and he takes up so much room.
And sometimes he takes my toy and taunts me. It's just mean.

This was taken right after mom watched the Oprah episode on puppy mills and shelters. She was so sad and gave me lots of hugs and lovin. It was a really hard episode to watch. She couldn't stop hugging me. It's ok momma! I am a loved and happy dog.

Hello, all of my blog readers and fans. I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. My new year's resolution is to be a better puppy blogger. I had a birthday in January, I turned One! I'm still full of energy and have to run 3 miles a day on the treadmill in order to be a well balanced (aka calm and non-destructive) dog. I've still got a ton of puppy energy in me. This is my first Christmas with Mommy and Daddy and it turns out they go very far away to celebrate. We drove over 12 hours in the car before reaching what I think they called Michigan. I was a little nervous at first with all of the people and the dogs and the food and the new smells. But eventually I got used to it. One night mom made me put on these stupid antlers. I think they look ridiculous but every one oooed and awwed at me.

Running Dog

One very cold and snowy day mom and dad brought home this contraption. Mom stood on it and kept insisting that I join her. I was unsure.
Because there was a treat involved I decided to give it a try. I am afterall and adventurous pup.
As I sat I thought to myself, this isn't so bad.
But then the floor started to move from beneath me. It was so weird! I had a sudden desire to walk. After many attempts of jumping off and back on I discovered that this moving floor thing could actually be quite enjoyable. I get to run super fast and don't have to worry about freezing my paws off! I think I could get used to this!

Dogtoberfest 2007

Last weekend dad, mom, me and aunt Rachael went to Dogtoberfest 2007 in Blue Springs. We all wore matching Chiefs jerseys. They actually got one my size instead of the Build a Bear's. It was fun to see so many dogs but there really wasn't much to do other than walk around. There were lots of vendors in tents and dog associations. There was a hound club, a pit bull club, but no puggle club. What's the deal!? I did meet my first puggle (other than my brothers and sisters). It was a black puggle with a straight tail. We were about the same size too. I think we'll be skipping Dogtoberfest next year.

Snuggling with Daddy / Sleeping in the big bed

One of my favorite things to do is to snuggle with my daddy on the couch. Here are a few pics below. On the topic of snugglinng, Mom and dad have finally let me sleep in the big bed, however it was a rough road getting there. A few weeks ago they moved my puppy kennel up to their room completely out of the blue. I was so excited, I was sure I would get to sleep in the big bed. After I sniffed out the room and chewed on everything I could reach, we settled down and snuggled in the bed. When it was time for lights out, back in the kennel I went. It really wasn't fair. They made me think I was going to get to sleep in the big bed and then nooooooo. Well just despite them, I threw a royal fit! I barked all night long. If I didn't get to sleep in the big bed, then no one did! Ha. This went on for several weeks, gradually, each night I barked less and less as i accepted my new arrangement. Then one night, they didn't put me in my kennel. Then the next night, no kennel. So far it has been several weeks and i'm still sleeping in the big bed!!!! I love it, I get to snuggle with mom and dad all night! I'm the most snuggly in the morning when mom makes me get up at 6am to go potty. I put on my best cute innocent puppy face in an effort to convince her to let me sleep, but it rarely works. At least I get to sleep in the big bed!!!!

Mom made me put on this stupid jersey. It actually belongs to her build a bear and doesn't fit me at all. But she put me in it anyway. I was very unhappy about this and made it known by laying on the floor with my legs sprawled out and I refused to move until they removed this ridiculous jersey. You could have put a steak in front of me and I wouldn't have moved. I look pretty good though eh?!

We've been traveling alot. We went to visit Ohio recently and I spent alot of time on my aunt Rachael's lap. She is so patient and sweet to me. I just love spending time with my Aunt Rachael. Even if she does like carnation flowers. The best part is that she is a college student now at Graceland only two hours away. So I get to see her all the time!

So the other day, I was just hanging out in the kitchen and I discovered some new toys on the floor. I was so excited! They were brown and soft leather. Judging by the tags they must have come from a store called Steve Madden. Frequently mom and dad leave me toys around the house. Bones, paper towels, mail, magazines, car keys etc. I figure as long as I can reach it, it must be for me. All of the sudden out of nowhere dad starts freaking out on me and yelling and chasing me shouting OFF OFF! I don't understand why they give me toys and then the next minute take them away. It really is quite confusing.

So one day, I was just minding my own business and out of nowhere I'm taken against my will to THE VET. I'm not a big fan of the vet. Usually they poke me and prod me but that was nothing compared to this. Daddy left me there by myself. The next thing I know I’m laying in a cage with a giant plastic thing on my head. I'm not sure what happened. Because of this giant cone hat, I can no longer lick my boy parts. Which, now that I think about it, were kind of sore. I found it very difficult to maneuver around my kennel without bumping into the sides and knocking the water bottle out. I also ran into a few corners. However, after about a week I was free!

Long Time

So it has been a while since I’ve posted a new message. I have been a very busy puppy. I am now nine months old and full of energy. Lots of fun things have happened since my last post. Here is a picture below of my new raincoat. My aunt Jolie gave it to me because it was way too big for her. It is too big for me too and quite frankly I think I look silly in it. I have not had to put it on yet since this one time. Paws crossed that I won’t have too again!

Road Trip

Howdy! It has been a while. Almost two months! Sorry for the delay. As I get older there aren't as many exciting things to talk about. I went on my first big road trip in May for my aunt Rachael's High School Graduation. We drove to Ohio from Missouri, over 12 hours in the Honda. I don't normally sleep so much but for some reason I just couldn't keep my eyes open during the trip. My cousin Rudy was kind enough to share his back yard with me. We had loads of fun running around in the rain and the mud. I spent the whole day running, jumping, digging and playing! It was so much fun! Above is a picture of me and my daddy and my best attempt at "girlfriend lips" in Ohio.

I like to consider myself a lap dog. My breeders assured my parents that I would grow to no more than 15 pounds, the size of a perfect lap dog. Despite the fact that I have now exceeded 20 pounds, I still consider myself a lap dog. See the pictures below. I still fit! I STILL FIT!

It has been almost a month since my last post. My apologies for the delay. I have been a very busy puppy. I have started advanced puppy class, my teeth are falling out and tomorrow I turn six months old. Six months! I can hardly believe it. It seems like just yesterday I was six inches tall running around chasing my tail and peeing on the sofa. Oh how time flies by. Below, is a picture of me smiling. Car Rides

About once or twice a week I get to ride in the car. I am always very excited to ride in the car because it means we are going somewhere fun. Sometimes we go to grandma's house, some times we go to Petco, and other times, like this one, we go to the puppy park. I have recently discovered how much fun it is to stick your head out the window as the car is moving. The farther you lean out the better it feels. My ears fly back, my skin jiggles and I feel like i'm flying. I highly recommend that you all try it next time you are in the car.

The Big Fuss

I had quite a disturbing night on Monday. Right around bedtime everyone (Katy, Aaron, Rachael and Janet) gathered in the kitchen and surrounded me. They kept trying to hold me down and pin my legs. There were giant metal pinchers pulling at the skin under my leg. I put up a good fight for over an hour. First I tried to look as sad as I possibly could. This is a picture of my sad puppy face.

Next I went for a more clever move and tried to back into the corner. I tried several different positions to hide my legs from them all and finally decided on this one. I felt it was the most effective.
Eventually I gave in to them, it was way past my bed time and I was pooped. Here is what apparently was stuck in my leg.
Tick – it doesn’t sound all that scary. I don’t know what all the fuss was about. I was just happy when they finally let me go to bed.

Fight Night

A Growing Puppy

Everyone seems to be commenting on my size lately. “He is sooooo big!” “I can’t believe how much he has grown!” “How big will he get?” Quite honestly it is making me self conscious. I am only 4 ½ months old. Do we really need to be so obsessive about my weight? As of Sunday I am officially 16 lbs. No one knows for sure how big I’ll end up. My dad is 12 lbs and my mom is 18 lbs so hopefully I’ll be somewhere in between. I really like to eat though so I may surpass the 18 lb mark. The down side is that I have gotten so big that I can’t fit very well onto laps anymore. I used to be able to curl up into a ball and fall asleep comfortably. Now I have to wiggle and wiggle to find a position that is “just right”. I’m just so stinkin long. The up side of growing is that I can jump up onto almost everything. I can jump on chairs, sofas and coffee tables. Below are two pics of me, one in January and one in March. They are both next to my pal Wooster so you can see the size difference more clearly. I'm so cute!

Revised Cat Meets Mouse

Chester again...
So my escape didn't go as planned. I didn't make it out of the bedroom and ended up spending the entire day under the book shelf. The giant orange cat sat there all day waiting for me. When the giants returned home, they tried a variety of manuevers to capture me, but I evaded them...for a while. I managed to disappear a few times so they couldn't find me. Late in the evening when I thought the coast was clear I headed downstairs. I found myself trapped under a sofa for a while then chased into the kitchen. I hid under the dogs cage trying to avoid the giant plastic box. The dog was barking like crazy, brooms were flying at me and eventually I was captured by the plastic box.
But lucky for me, the big plastic box did not lead to dinner for the cat. I was released near a pond and set free!

Cat meets Mouse

Hello, This is Chester the Mouse dropping in to share my harrowing story of survival. This morning I was out for my morning jog around the house when out of nowhere a big orange cat appeared and started chasing after me. So I quickly darted behind the bookcase. I was resting safely when all of the sudden a huge giant lifted the bookcase where I was hiding. The cat chased me across the floor by the bed as you can see below…
Then he scooped me upto his mouth...

But I wriggled my way free and kept running. I headed into the bathroom where he continued to swat at my like I was a toy....

I headed back in the room, past the giant foot...

And then finally I made it safely back behind the bookcase again. Out of reach of the massive paws and teeth.

The giants didn't move the bookshelf this time. The cat just waited on the floor for me to come back out but I didn't budge until he fell asleep. I crept slowly back toward my home in the garage unoticed. Lucky for me the cat wasn't hungry or I would have been a goner like my cousin Vinny this past weekend. He was not as fortunate as I to escape the wrath of the big orange cat!

Fun at the Puppy Park

Saturday was the best day ever! I got to go to the puppy park and meet all sorts of new friends. There were big dogs, little dogs, mean dogs, nice dogs, furry dogs and curly dogs. For some reason they all like to chase me. So I did alot of running! Here is a pic of me anxiously looking out the window.

Helping in the Garden

This was one of my favorite days ever! I got to dig in the mud, eat flowers, bite sticks and jump in leaf piles all day long. A few times I even ran free when my collar broke.

Socks are one of my favorite toys. I rarely get to play with them because they are frequently stolen from me and worn on feet. Yuck. As often as I can I try to get a hold of one and run off with it. I'm just trying to take what is rightfully mine.

Wooster the cat here. This little mutt may seem cute and innocent but he has jaws of steel. Just try being chased around the house with little jaws chomping at your tail. It's no fun let me tell you. This table is the only place left that I can jump where he can't reach. Ha Ha bite me now!

Yay for Spring!

The snow has melted and there are all news sights and smells outside. I can dig in the ground, eat the grass, watch the birds and chase the cars that go by. Spring is wonderful! My favorite part of Spring is playing outside. I'm still learning this new game called "Fetch" with my tennis ball. I try and try to play with the ball but they keep throwing it in the other direction. It is quite frustrating!

Learning not to Jump

I really like to jump up on everything, especially the coffee table. My puppy class teacher Dennis suggested building a tower of pots and pans then covering it with treats. That way when I jump up all of the noise and metal comes falling down and I will learn not to jump up again. However, they have all under estimated my intelligence. Any idiot can tell if you jump up on pots and pans they will fall. Nice try but it will take more to out smart the likes of Plato the Puggle.

Today I graduated from Puppy class! I showed the entire class how I can "sit, down, stay, watch me, come, turn, and off". I have so much fun playing in puppy class with all of my friends. I can't wait until advanced puppy class starts!

Vet

Here I am at my first official visit to the vet. I did very well. I weighed in at 9 pound but have grown even more over the weekend. I recieved my wormer shots and took them like a champ. This weekend mom and dad are out of town so I will miss a very important puppy class about biting. I'll have to make it up next week.

Sunday was puppy class #2. I did really well. All week I practiced my "sit, down, stand' routine and perfomed beautifully in front of the group. Everyone was impressed because I am the youngest puppy in the group. Here are a few pics of me and my new puppy class friends.

Cold Fluffy White Stuff

Today all of this cold fluffy white stuff fell from the sky. It was so much fun. You can run in it, jump in it, dig it, pounce on it or eat it. When you walk it leaves your tracks behind. As you can see in the pictures my favorite thing to do is eat it. But sometimes it gets stuck to my face and I look like I have a beard.

The Big Red Monster

Every once in a while, mommy lets the big red monster out of the closet. I try to tell her not to open the door but she does anyway. It is usually on weekends. The big red monster comes out and then roars and roars and shines its big bright laser beams at me. Usually my barking and running around scare it enough to go back in the closet where it belongs. Hopefully he'll stay in there for good. I don't like the big red monster.

Puppy Class

Sunday was my first day at puppy school. It went very well. I met several new friends and was on my best behavior. We learned that tug-of-war is a bad game that promotes agression, that it will take 4-6 months before i'm potty trained and that when I turn twelve weeks on Saturday i'll only get two meals a day rather than the 3 I get now. I don't know if I am going to like that very much. One of the first games we played in puppy class was to roam around the room on our own. Most of the other kids went up and smelled each other but not me. I was more interested in the plants and shoes. Even though I was the smallest and youngest of the class I did very well. We learned sit, down, and stand. My homework is to work on them 15 times a day. Next time in class we will perform in front of everyone. I'm kind of nervous but i'm doing really well this week practicing. I'm quite the budding thespian.

The Forbidden Staircase

This is me, Plato at the top of the forbidden staircase. I am very good at going down all kinds of stairs but I am scared of these stairs. They lead down to a dark black hole where Wooster lives. I want nothing to do with this evil place. So I axiously sit at the top and wait for my family to return from the abyss.

When it is cold and snowy outside I don’t get much exercise. So we invented a fun new game called “Run up the stairs and then run back down”. I love it! I am really good too, especially, now that I have mastered the art of walking on stairs. Here are a few action shots.

Wooster and I are starting to get along better. I like to chase him and he likes to swat me with his paw. It's probably a good thing that he has been declawed or I might have scratches all over my head. The only down side is that he has special trampolines in his feet that let him fly up onto the table where I cannot reach him. It isn't fair. Hmmph.

Oh boy! I do not like baths! Whoever thought that being wet and cold and covered in bubbles sounded like fun was very wrong. I am not a fan. Hopefully we will never do that again! Don't worry, I make sure that everyone involved is just as wet as I am when we are done.

Today I met Phoebe, my new best dog friend. She belongs to Carrie and Ryan Wood. She was very nice and let me play with all of her toys, drink her water and follow her all around the house. She even gave me a fun new fish toy. Here are a few pictures of me playing today!

I love my new home! It took me a few minutes to get the courage to roam around but once I did I was having a blast. I don't really like my new collar. I keep trying to scratch it but it just won't come off. Wooster is my new best friend. He seems a little leary of me but he is reacting very well. I am having so much fun. I run and play for 20 mintues and then crash for 20 then i'm up again to play. I think it is going to be a long night! The good news is i'm eating, drinking and I went potty outside for the first time!!!!
